Ranbir and Alia Stopped by Activist From Entering Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Temple

Ranbir and Alia Stopped by Activist From Entering Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Temple

A ruckus broke out on Tuesday as Bajrang Dal activists stopped Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor from entering the Mahakal temple in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain citing Ranbir Kapoor’s past comment on beef. However Director Ayan Mukerji entered the temple’s inner sanctum.

Ayan shared a picture of himself seeking blessings and wrote, “3 DAYS AWAY…Feel very happy and energised to have visited Mahakaleshwar Temple today… Got the most beautiful darshan…Wanted to make this visit to close the film-making journey on Brahmastra, and to get all the positive energy and blessings for our Release #brahmastra”.

Eyewitnesses said despite the cane charge, the protesters did not allow Ranbir and Alia to enter the temple premises. Bajrang Dal workers raised ‘Jai Shriram’ slogans when Ranbir and Alia arrived at the spot to take darshan.

After promoting the film in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai the lead actors of Brahmastra had taken a flight to Ujjain hoping to visit the Mahakaleshwar Temple along with Ayan Mukerji, the movie Director. Since Alia is pregnant, she decided not to go to the temple amid the ruckus. Sadly, Alia and Ranbir had to return back to Indore without darshan. After the situation was brought under control, only Ayan Mukerji went to the temple and had darshan.

Brahmastra, one of the highly anticipated films of the year, is due to release on 9th September 2022.
